Kiwanis Club of Glen Cove is a not- for – profit organization established in the year 2000 by residents who recognized the need for and importance of helping to improve and empower the lives of children. Kiwanis Club of Glen Cove is 1 of 7000 clubs in North America and another couple thousand throughout the globe. Each club throughout the world targets the individual needs of its community.
Members of Glen Cove’s distinguished club make it a priority to identify children and their families in need by working closely with the school district and other community-based organizations. The club’s objective is to raise funds to provide for things such as scholarships for high school students, send children to summer camp, adopt families for the holidays by offering gift cards for local supermarkets and purchase gifts to ensure children have a magical Christmas.
In past years: prior to Memorial Day club members plant flowers at each of the city’s veteran monuments. In the past members proudly participated in the annual Earth Day beach cleanup.
Throughout the years the club has raised funds to purchase pediatric trauma kits for local EMS.
Members of Kiwanis Club of Glen Cove work closely with the local food pantries by delivering groceries to those who have been negatively impacted by the pandemic.
And as recently Donated and became Stewarts of The Little Free Library located at the EOC Office of the Glen Cove Garden Apartments in Glen Cove.
Kiwanis Club of Glen Cove is the proud sponsor of: LIU Post Circle K, GC Landing K Kids, GCHS Key Club and RMF Middle School Builders Club. Meetings are held twice a month, in the evening, at local restaurants
